It's so exciting when there is a new baby on the way. For me its time to create something new and which in this case means that I am knitting the same blanket twice... one for show and one to go..... Time to churn out some baby blankets....
Since the recipient of this blanket lives in the Southwest and I know they are expecting a girl, I took a different path and went a little lacy.
Peek-a-Boo Baby Blanket is rich with texture, horizontal ridge squares and lacy squares in a checkerboard-ish motif all framed in a seed stitch border. The pink sample was knit with Cascade 220 Superwash Sport, its 100% Superwash Merino and is super soft, each hank has 136 yards (used 7 hanks) in a soft ballet pink color.
In the past, I have been a big advocate for the reversible blanket. Technically this blanket is not reversible, however I do think it reverses nicely.
The pattern for the Peek-a-Boo Baby Blanket is available on Ravelry.
The gift blanket which has been the inspiration for this design project was knit with The Fiber Seed Sprout DK. Sprout DK in color Glow Worm is 90% Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Nylon, it has 225 yards per hank, 812 yards or 3.6 hanks were used to complete the blanket.
Originally 5 hanks of The Fiber Seed Sprout DK were purchased for this project. I only used 812 yards of the 1125 purchased. What to do with the remaining 313 yard?
What to do? What to do?
Hmmmm.........
Until next time.....Happy Knitting!!!
