Inspiration can come from anything or anywhere.....
Enjoying my coffee this morning, I spied the intricacies of a one particular flower in a bouquet I bought. I love flowers!
I had never seen anything like this before, and upon closer inspection, it struck me that this could be worked up into a knitted lace pattern. Really.... I know I'm a shade off....but its real.
For me, I see diamonds, chevrons and even some herringbone motifs. What do you see?
I also love the colorations, the brilliant varying shades of orange, canary yellow, chartreuse and even a little red. Gorgeous!
I'm not sure where this inspiration will lead or when I will actually get around to doing something with it, but I see something.......
On a side note......Talking about where inspirations come from, I have one lace pattern that was inspired by a shower curtain. TRUE STORY. The shower curtain was sheer with staggered large dots woven into it. I wish I would have kept the shower curtain or better yet, taken a picture of it....but sadly, I did not.
The pattern that's start came from a shower curtain is the lace design, Meridian Lace Wrap, shown below.
At least this time, I do have pictures to document this inspiration. Gorgeous, right! I'm sure this flower picture would be a great inspiration for a yarn dyer as well.
Until next time.....
Happy Knitting!
