I can't lie....I'm kind of proud to say that I have hit a milestone....100 published pattern designs. Its been extremely fun to set out on this creative journey. Learned a lot along the way on this adventure. But most importantly, I am grateful for my many devoted fans and cheerleaders for your kindness and words of encouragement. You have gotten me here. Thank you!
The 100th pattern design is the Double Check Reversible Blanket pattern. Rich in texture, comprised of mismatched blocks of ribbing and moss stitch squares, all complimented with a seed stitch border. The texture is created using just knit and purl stitches, so even if you are newer to knitting, this blanket is easy to knit...it just looks like its complicated.
A hand-knit afghan or throw blanket is a great way to freshen up any decor. Whether you call it Persimmon, Coral or Conch Shell, this color is a fantastic POP color. It goes with most everything. It looks great with neutrals like ivory, greys or rich browns, tones of blue, any shade of green, springy yellows and pinks. A Coral hue delivers warmth and adds an unexpected sophistication to your space.
Whether you fancy the color Coral or not, choose an unexpected POP color for your next blanket project....you'll be glad you did.

Just love lots of textural interest, but when it comes to blankets, I really love when they are reversible......its a MUST. No matter how they end up draped over the sofa, a chair or your lover, they always look great.
If you love texture, like I love texture you may want to check out the Nolan Gansey Sampler Reversible Blanket. Its great to look at and fun to knit.
There is no getting bored with this project. This blanket seemed to knit up quicker, honestly I think I just knit longer looking forward to the next pattern design.
Both Double Check and Nolan Blankets use an Aran weight yarn (4 sts = 1 inch) and a US#9 needle. Some of my go-to Aran weight yarns are Cascade Eco Wool/Eco Wool+, Cascade 220 Superwash Aran and Caron One Pound. The patterns for these Knitting Buzz Designs are available on Ravelry.
