The Triangulated Shift Lace Wrap pattern is one that I stated last year and then set aside for a wedding, holiday gifts and then a baby blanket. Alas, its complete!
Triangulated Shift Lace Wrap is a graceful graphic triangular pattern with a shifting eyelet pattern offering playful movement throughout the piece. Its knit with a yarn that is new to me, Verdant Gryphon Mithril Hand-Dyed Lace yarn. Its 100% merino wool, in a different type of plyed construction, reminds me more of string or cord. Don't let this scare you off. It knit and blocked beautifully. It has a clean crisp finish. I like it and will definitely knit with it again.
Mithril Lace is a 4 ounce hank of 750 yards. I had 2 hanks, which encouraged me to make this pashmina wrap both wide and long, 22" x 84" blocked or 1392 yards. I like my wraps longer because I am tall. But this wrap could easily be made with 1200 yards, yielding a 22" x 72" size.
A side note.....the tabletop swift in the picture above is by ChiaGoo and I highly recommend it! Its available at your local yarn store and Amazon. By the way, it folds up flat and takes up very little space. Its perfet!
Back to the wrap......
The Verdant Gryphon's hand-dye color sense is always a treat. For me, its impossible to choose just one, so I bought 3 different colors. Triangulated Shift Lace Wrap was knit with the color Born During Rain. Its a fresh bright pastel that will look fantastic with charcoal, navy, white and of course, everything looks good with black.
The pattern for the Triangulated Shift Lace Wrap pattern can be purchased on www.Ravelry.com. This pattern is also available at your local yarn store if they participate in Ravelry LYS Sales. Included with this pattern are two (2) tutorials on Blocking and how to move stitch markers to compete a stitch....my goal is to make your knitting effortless.
Until next time......
Happy Knitting!
