I literally have kept this project under wraps. I love a big wide wrap scarf. Perhaps because its paramount when one lives in the ever so chilly Windy City. The inspiration for this project came from the ever so outrageous ginormous scarf worn by Lenny Kravitz. There is no doubt in my mind that he is keeping it warm.
So I came up with my own version, modified with a dash more sophistication to suit me.
I present to you the newly published, Fossil Leaf Rib Wrap Scarf.
Fossil Leaf Rib Wrap Scarf is reversible and can be worn as a wrap or a scarf.
Its knit with Classic Elite Mountain Top Mohawk Wool, naturally undyed fibers, Merino and Romney Wool, in a DK/Sport weight. Its approximately 375 yards per hank. This wrap took 5 hanks. Mohawk Wool has a nice stitch definition and moderately soft to the touch.
The pattern for the Fossil Leaf Rib Wrap Scarf is available on Ravelry.
Its written in two sizes, wide or wider, and can be knit in any yarn weight. The design works well with both a structured high twist yarn or a more drape-y yarn with alpaca or silk. This wrap has been test knit in a worsted weight yarn and looks stunning, (pictures of projects can be found on Ravelry.com)
I would really like to knit another. Yes, I love it that much. Makes those brutally cold days of winter, just a little easier to take.
Until next time.....
Happy Knitting!
