Enchante 100% cultivated silk by Kaaland Yarns Austrailia, provides an incredible knitting experience. Perhaps its seems so good, because of my preconceived notion that it would be disappointing. This ridiculous notion was based on a past experiences with silk, which I now know was more abour how it was manufactured or the grade, but not silk in general. Good to know.....watch out lace silk yarn....here I come!
I decided to make a very open oversized staggered eyelet-ish pattern with a corded edge with Enchante Silk.
Since I only had 3 balls (or 990 yards) from a purchase I made many years ago, I was a bit nervous about getting a decent width and length out of it. This nervousness is what led to the more open design, trying to stretch it as far as I could. I have knit through 2.5 of the 3 balls that I have and am happy with the width and estimating the length it may be a little shy of how long I like my wraps/scaeves, but definitely workable. Of course, this is all estimated before I have done any blocking. Next time I will definitely buy 4 balls.
I have decided to name this pattern after the Chicago Lyric Opera, which sounds overly fancy, but the perfect venue to be draped in a bit of silk.

On a side note, I wanted to share a quick hat knit for my love Xander.
I don't think he is so crazy about getting his picture taken...right?
Happy Knitting!
