What is a knit-a-long or KAL?
A knit-a-long (KAL) is any event where people get together and knit for a common purpose, usually organized around a common project or theme.
A typical KAL is not a teaching event, however, you will learn a lot and you’ll make some really good friends. Seeing the way that others tackle a particular project will inspire you to take your craft in new directions and to new heights.
KALs are usually scheduled to meet weekly anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks depending on the project. Its not important, nor is it required to attend all sessions. It is simply a time set aside for individuals to gather to work on the same or similar projects. Sounds fun, right!
Beginning this Friday, I will be facilitating two KALs at Loopy Yarns in Chicago from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for the next six weeks.
- The first is a Lace Wrap or Scarf from Knitting Buzz Designs (that's me) collection. Choose any of my designs (available on Ravelry.com) and I look forward to sharing my tips and tricks, as well as, joining in "to solve the worlds problems".
- The second is knitting the Building Blocks Reversible Baby Blanket, also available on Ravelry
I hope you can join in on the fun. I plan on on bringing some kind of snack to share and perhaps even adult beverages. If you can't make this Friday, I look forward to seeing you soon.
Happy Knitting!
P.S. You never know.....I may even bring some unpublished designs to share
