This knitted lace project is getting nearer to completion. I would estimate that the knitting on the original version is nearly 90% complete. Sweet!
I love finishing the knitting of any project, aside from the next steps of blocking, pattern writing, photographing and publishing..... it means that soon I will have something new to accessorize.
Previously, I mentioned that I was going to experiment with a softer more supple yarn to see how the pattern would hold up. I must admit, my expectations were actually quite low and didn't have high hopes on the outcome.
Was I ever wrong!!!! I used Juniper Moon Farms Yarns, in Findley laceweight. Its a 50% merino wool and 50% silk blend. Very soft. To me, my quick knitted swatch and block, looks better than I could have expected.
I'm thrilled. Thrilled that the pattern can use any yarn that blocks well.
Not exactly sure when I will knit up this version......but I am thrilled all the same.
More soon.......
Happy Knitting!
