The shortened time between Thanksgiving and Christmas played a bit of havoc with my knitting "plans" and my knitting "reality". I knit when ever I could, while still managing to fit in some shopping and some party going.
My knitting "plans" were probably a little unrealistic.....but that is so typical for me.....
I did manage to complete..... 2 blanket/throws, 3 pair of socks, 3 scarves (two winter-y and one lace-y), 2 hats and 4 cotton facecloths.
Yes, its true, I copped out and used the same/similar pattern for the blankets and socks. But a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do.....
Even though I found myself knitting into the wee hours to get everything completed, all made it under the tree, blocked and wrapped......except for one lone sock that was still a little damp drying on the sock blocker. Luckly, my sweet Katie, is well aware that receiving one sock, just means that its mate will show up "shortly". In this case it was just a couple hours.
My only regret this holiday season was that I did not make it to the Christkindlemarket this year. No handblown ornaments, no hand-carved wood work, no handmade soaps or candles, no strudle, no bee-sting cake, no potato pancakes, no mulled wine. I might have been able to do it, but the ridiculously frigid temps spoke ever-so-loudly as my voice of reason. Brrrr!
Looking forward to get back to knitting some lace-y wraps. Will be publishing the patterns for the blankets and socks soon.
Wishing you and yours a belated but wonderful and safe holiday season.
Happy Knitting!
