A recent request for a lace scarf pattern, I had knit several years ago has initiated this post.
I am happy to share the pattern, especially since I knit it at a time when I didn't even dream of writing them down.
The scarf is 7.5" x 70" and used about 430 yards of Linen laceweight yarn on a US#7 (4.5mm) needle.
Abbreviations: k2tog (knit 2 sts together as if they were one), ssk (slip 2 sts knitwise, one at a time, to the RH needle, insert LH needle into the front of the slipped stitches and knit them together as if they were one), 2x (two times, 3x (three times), st(s) (stitch, stitches), RH (right hand), LH (left hand)
Cast on 49 stitches.
Knit 2 rows (garter stitch). Begin Pattern.
Pattern Repeat
Rows 1 - 4: Knit
Rows 5, 7, 9 & 11: K1, *(k2tog) 2x, (yo, k1) 3x, yo, (ssk)2x, k1....repeat from * to end
Rows 6, 7, 10 & 12: Purl
Repeat Rows 1 - 12 to desired length. Knit 2 more rows and bind off loosely. Pattern will most likely require blocking.
Happy Knitting!
