Stainless Steel and Silk Yarn. There really is such a thing. It's not new, but until now I had not had the pleasure of knitting with it.
The yarn is by HABU Textiles and is 69% stainless steel and 31% silk in a very fine lace weight, style A-20, 1/20. Many have made the Kusha Kusha Scarf combining it with a fine merino wool lace weight yarn.
I really wanted to try the stainless steel/silk alone. Then it came to me...... the Pebbly Mesh Lace Wrap & Scarf (see below) requires an extreme blocking...... with the stainless steel, it may not need a blocking at all.
So I gave it a try, as a scarf (see below), with a beautiful eggplant color #21. So far, it's knitting up nicely and I think I am going to really like it.
Fun! Right? As I get further along I will post more pictures. It is fun to try something new. Enjoy widening your horizons......
Happy Knitting!
These are fantastic! I love the usage of a creative medium in knitting. Knitters everywhere should be jealous to see that you created a wonderful piece of art and an innovative piece of fashion. How do these pieces feel when they are around your body? I would love to see this entered into a gallery. Keep up the amazing work!
