What started out as an inspiration of a pile of fishing nets
Has been swatched
I selected the beautiful lace weight merino yarn for the shawl from Fearless Fiber in the colorway golden olive. i really loved working with this yarn and it blocked beautifully. The scarf was knit out of fingering weight yarn like St. Denis Boreale. Its a fun and extremely easy knitted lace design.
The blocking was effortless, but quickly realized I needed to adjust the way I placed the pins;
so I could pronounce the gentle side scallops of the design without getting points. I moved the pins inside the scallop and the result was perfect.
This design will be available on Ravelry shortly, as soon as finish up the pdf. My goal is to have it up tonight.
I am calling it Portofino after the quaint but small Italian fishing village on the Italian Riviera.
Now for the unveiling.... pun intended.... of the shawl and scarf.
A close up of the shawl, check out those pretty scalloped edges....
Ciao for now!
Lovely!!! Can't wait for the pattern to be published on Raverly..
