Winter hibernation just got a whole lot comfier. A cushy couch just isn't complete without a good throw blanket..... or two.... or three. A throw adds color and warmth to any room. Although, its not just an accessory, its functional too.
This is especially true, when you wake up to this. Yes, its March 14th and this is what I woke up to.... and its still coming down.
Perfect time for snuggling up on the sofa with a hot cup of coffee or tea, a good book (or audio-book with some knitting, in my case) and a cozy throw blanket. As you might imagine, I have no shortage of lush warm blankets around my house.
Just off the needles and just in time is my latest design, Heraldry Reversible Throw Blanket.
Heraldry is a traditional chevron herringbone design with a playful reflective quality. I love that this blanket is reversible and has lots of texture, by a simple arrangement of knit and purl stitches.
The silvery grey color of the blanket is perfect for today, it looks a lot like whats outside, but warmer.
Heraldry is knit with an Aran weight yarn on a US#9 circular needle. Its 50" x 62", nice and big to keep you and yours cozy. I love Cascade Eco Wool or Eco Wool+. Its 100% wool, but does need to be hand-washed or dry cleaned. For a washable version, Cascade 220 Superwash Aran is a machine care merino wool or Caron One Pound is a non-wool machine care, that is nice and soft. These are all good choices for this blanket. Of course, if you would like it even larger, try using a bulky weight yarn/US#10 needle.
Stay warm and until next time....
