The over-dying worked! It can be done, changing the color, or in this case, colors of a completed knit piece can be over-dyed.
This is the first time that this has ever happened to me....... three (3) hanks, all purchased & shipped to the store together were three different color tones. Yes, the yarn had a tonal quality about it, but it still appeared to be the same color. These color differences made this beautiful lace piecework look ridiculous.
Even though the over-dying took away the tonal qualities, it no longer looks ridiculous, to me.
All in all.....I liked working with The Fibre Company Yarn, Meadow. It has good stitch definition, is soft to the touch and blocked well. However the inconsistency of color from hank to hank has me. sadly, a little leery to consider it for future projects.
